Dog Walking 

First & foremost – SAFETY!

We pay a premium to walk in private woods & fields, purpose fenced for the security of our furry clan, which you may also pay to use yourselves: www.K9woodlandservices.co.uk 

Not only does this allow us the safety of not bumping in to people who might otherwise be fearful of meeting a number of dogs running free & having fun, but also, ensures that water & shade are always available during the (rare as they may be) ‘hot’ days during the Summer months.

It is widely recognised & acknowledged that, beyond the obvious quality of health in our dogs, walking & exercise also help with regard to mental stimulation & wellbeing. Many dogs that often chew/scratch, pine/cry, or even show signs of aggression, usually show marked improvement through regular exercise plus the associated mental stimulation through interaction with others & the things they’ve seen/sniffed. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve watched the dogs around me fall asleep & paddle or run through their dreams.

We have also, directly, looked after the welfare of both our 4-legged clan & even their owners with First Aid; our Company Founder has quite often left home specifically to attend to this … & we have been seen providing the same care for members of the public, at least once or twice a year, by the side of the road as we drive our rounds. We’ve even offered a Police Officer a lift whilst he took instruction from a helicopter to catch a criminal … It’s NEVER BORING!

We have taken on a great many dogs that others Dog Walkers in/around Reading have rejected & are more than proud of the polite & sociable furry youngsters that we’ve turned them in to – though – ‘Perfect’ is not something we would ever expect (as that would be somewhat hypocritical when looking in a mirror)!

We have even taken-in a couple of our fuzzy clan where Dog Trainers have said,

“Untrainable!” 

- & in one case –

“My earnest recommendation: Have him put-down!”

Proudly – we can confirm – we have turned out sociable, loving, boys & girls.

Regards ‘Walking’ – many will now argue/contest this point – through years of experience: we recognise dogs as instinctively pack animals as they were born to brothers & sisters. We ensure, no less than a Teacher in a classroom, that we are their Leaders. If you choose to use our service – we agree – this is reinforced by you as their ‘Owners’. It is very confusing for any of us to have one rule with one person & another with somebody else. Dogs also respond best to consistency & routine. We will of course combine a degree of either basic Training or re-affirming the Training that your dog already has with, of equal importance, FUN & PLAY.

As every dog IS unique: we will naturally tailor our Service to his/her specific needs & temperament. No less are each of us individual too. We’ve had some cracking colleagues work with us along the way. From Emma, (a Police Officer’s wife) to Helen, Michelle & Jon – as individual to the eye as they are in character, grinning broadly – each bringing their own personality but all sharing one commonality: our love of dogs!

Whatever we work out as the best routine for your boy or girl – we will, of course, confirm & agree what we are going to do with you first – nonetheless we expect to bring home one tired & contended dog … & as clients:, once routine has been established,  you are ALWAYS WELCOME TO JOIN US!
